Certified Reference Material (CRM) is the priority recommendation of ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025 for metrological traceability. Laboratories that have this recognition can rely on Controllab, which is accredited (PMR 0009) by the Coordenação-Geral de Acreditação do Inmetro and produces CRM in accordance with internationally accepted criteria and established in the ABNT NBR ISO 17034 standard.

They are strains from the NCTC (National Collection of Type Cultures) collection, the most renowned in Europe and also the oldest collection for bacteria in the world, founded in 1920.
